Battle of the Booze Results

Well Hello Again!

First off, I want to thank everyone for your well wishes. That means quite a bit to me.  I had a pretty good week. My kidnappers (aka my cousin and her family) came and snagged me from my apartment last week. I thought I was only going to be there over the weekend so I left my laptop at home.

My cousin took the clippers to my head and took my hair down to super short, but not bald. My nurse had advised me not to shave it bald to avoid follicle issues. Then my cousin surprised me with a set of gray and black skull caps so that my head wouldn't burn every time I spent time outdoors.  I cant even express how much that meant to me.

On Monday, it was decided that I should just spend the entire week and celebrate the holiday with them.  We made a special trip to grab my laptop so that I could keep up with emails and other blogging tasks that are a little more difficult to do on the phone.

On Wednesday, we went to a farm about 45 minutes from my cousin’s home. They (the farm owners) live on a hill and they have built waterslides on their property. Families from all around come to play at their place. So while the younger ones (23 and younger) slid down the hill, us older folks went inside with the Air Conditioning and chatted and played a game called Chameleon.  Such a fun game! If you haven’t played it yet, you should give it a try.

On Thursday, the heat wore us out. Around 10:30pm my cousin (who works for the County Emergency Administration) received a text telling her to turn on her radio to listen to some excitement in town. Fireworks caused a brush fire that was threatening homes. It was interesting to listen to the Police Department as they went door to door evacuating homes.  And then to hear them responding to more issues on top of that.

I finally came home yesterday (Sunday). While I love spending time with my cousins, it’s always nice to come home.

Okay… let’s talk about the boozy battle!  I’m glad that you all were entertained with the content of this month’s tunes. I know I giggled the whole time I put the battle together.
