Call Me Battle Results: November
Did it happen? Did Tommy Tutone manage to knock the Partridge Family from their pedestals? Let’s Find out…
Before we get too far into the results, I want to take a minute to thank everyone for stopping in to support Rocktober. You may have noticed that it has morphed into Song of the Day for the other months of the year. It’s my hope that I can keep up this pace for the foreseeable future. I’m in that weird stage of my treatment where I am feeling good - so I am taking advantage of this and scheduling future posts as much as I can. I’ll have my next PETscan in early December.
Okay, enough about me! McCarthy is waiting with baited breath for the outcome here, because apparently being faux-married to Brenda Lee and faux-dating Karen Carpenter… he’s dying to convince Susan Dey to be his faux-side chick.
So how did this battle turn out?
Let’s find out!
Final results -
The Partridge Family with 3 votes
Tommy Tutone with 3 votes
That’s right, folks. We have ourselves a tie battle! That means I need to make a choice and cast my own vote (I only do this when there’s a tie)
So… drum roll please!
I’ve waited patiently for a full year for Tommy Tutone to show up in the battles. It’s an earworm from my youth, and I just can’t deny him a vote.
Therefore, McCarthy can run off into the sunset with Susan Dey, and Tommy Tutone will continue on to Phase 2 of the Call Me Battles. Will he hold his position on the pedestal? Time will only tell.
Singing us out is this month’s Call Me! Losing Contestant. See you all very soon!
Another tie vote but yours broke it! Thanks for reporting the outcome. My battle outcome is now available!
ReplyDeleteWow! A great battle, Mary! I learned a trick I hadn't thought of in terms of voting too ;-) I love sunsets as much the average cricket and therefore welcome Tommy Tutone!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're in a feel better stage. Hang it there!
ReplyDeleteI was getting so used to that Partridge Family song, but all good things must come to an end. Especially when replaced by better things? Or maybe just different things.
Good Battle and I look forward to seeing where it all goes from here.

I gotta admit I'm rather surprised that the Partridge Family song hung in there so tenaciously against Tommy Tutone's famous earworm. I figured from way back in the beginning that 867-5309 would clobber any contender it came up against.
ReplyDeleteWell, it was a really interesting Challenge with a number of good songs. I'm curious to see what Phase 2 is going to be like.
