I’m really excited about this battle series. There was some great feedback on it, and it even helped get some ideas flowing in my head.
So, How did this battle turn out?
Well… McCarthy’s fictitious wife started out strong, but then the Marvelettes picked up some speed and came swooping in stole the show!

Here's my Battle Results at Tossing It Out Results
I HATE it when my wife loses. Now I'll wind up having to console her all night. She'll turn down the lights and insist that I put my arms around her and hold her tight while she gently weeps against my neck. And that stuff ALWAYS leads to... dancing.
ReplyDeleteI actually figured The Marvelettes would win this contest. Their song was a BIG hit, and it still gets played on Oldies radio stations. While the Brenda Lee song is unknown except to major, genuine fans of 'Little Miss Dynamite'.
So, in Round 1, the song that actually gave birth to this BOTB series concept has been eliminated. ...I'm gonna take my toys and go home! {*Sniff! Sniff!*}
MMQE, regardless of how many songs you add to the contest, I know which one is going to win the whole shebang. I won't spill the beans, but I'll be amazed, stunned and in disbelief if that 4th song I mentioned to you does not win The Super Bowl of Telephone Number Songs. This should be fun to follow!!

I had faith that the Marvelettes would win, and I was on your blog yesterday to find out that they did win. And to listen to "Don't Mess With Bill". Good times! So here I am again and I realized I never commented yesterday. Correcting that now!
