Foo Faves 2022
Welcome back to Monday’s Music Moves Me!
Today is Free Choice week, which means we can post about anything our little hearts desire. I’m also trying out a new idea for the blog here.
Some of you may or may not know this about me, but one of my most favorite
bands is Foo Fighters. My favorite albums being The Colour and The Shape and Wasting Light.
Sadly, the band lost their talented drummer, Taylor Hawkins, on March 25, 2022 and as a result, tours came to a screeching halt. I truly feel for Dave Grohl, the lead singer, as he and Taylor were best friends.
It’s no secret that Dave Grohl was the drummer for Nirvana when Kurt Cobain passed. (I personally don’t believe it was suicide). It is also rumored that Dave Grohl lost his mother, Virginia, in July (strictly a rumor - nothing has been confirmed on this).
On Sept 3, several musicians gathered at London’s Wembley Stadium for a six-plus hour concert honoring Taylor Hawkins. There will also be 2 more tribute concerts later this month in Los Angeles.
For today’s post, I thought I would share 10 of my favorite Foo Fighter tunes (in no particular order). I wanted to put them all in one big video for you, but due to copyrights, etc I ended up creating a playlist. Please take a moment to give them a listen. (and feel free to give a thumbs up and subscribe to my YouTube channel)
- Walk
- Home
- Monkey Wrench
- Times Like These
- The Pretender
- Dear Rosemary
- Bridge Burning
- Learn To Fly
- All My Life
- Everlong
Today’s post is part of the Monday’s Music Moves Me blog hop. If you have a MUSIC* post, feel free to join in the fun! *sorry non-music posts are not permitted in this blog hop.

ReplyDeleteI meant NICE
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan but nothing new ..lol. have a great day
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to hear some of my favorites (The Pretender, Everlong, All My Life, Times Like These). Brings back a memory of years ago when one of my first cousins once removed attended our local university. She was invited to meet them, being a member of an a capella group formed by various students and she turned it down (!!!!!) because she had never heard of them. (They aren't her type of music). AAARRGH. Too bad I couldn't change places with her. I just looked it up and the concert was in 2008. Time flies!
ReplyDeleteThat first video (after yours) was based on the movie "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas, one of my faves. You probably knew tat, though. Great list!
ReplyDeleteNoticed that the Taylor Hawkins tribute was on the other night but I didn't really watch it other than a brief drop in. I didn't know who he was. Maybe I should have watched. I just don't keep up with music as much as I did prior to the nineties.

Lee,
DeleteYou may have enjoyed the tribute. While there were many Foo Fighter tunes, there were also others there such as members of Queen, Led Zeppelin, Paul McCartney, Chrissy Hynde, and a few others. The original tribute show was streamed on YouTube and Paramount+ It was a 6+ hour show. What we can now find on YouTube are just snippets and a 2 hour video. I kick myself for not making myself available to catch the full live stream.
Mary,
ReplyDeleteFoo Fighters popped up my radar only after I started blogging like so much other music. I'm not a fan but it doesn't mean I don't like their music. They have talent and some of their stuff I like. I hate hearing about anyone dying. It's sad when someone loses a friend or family no matter what the circumstances are surrounding the person's death. Thanks for sharing your favorite Foo Fighters songs. I enjoyed listening to the music while doing laundry and putting clothes away. :) Have a boogietastic week, my friend!
