Totally Awesome 80's - E #AtoZChallenge
Welcome back to the Totally Awesome 80’s!
A time when our clothes were bright and vivid (nobody had to tell us to NOT eat the laundry soap!). A time before cell phones, and it was the very beginning of a time of personal computers. We had some unforgettable tunes, and that is what we’re focusing on today!
So, grab your big plastic earrings, put on your acid washed jeans, and let’s dance!
Today’s Playlist
1980 - Escape (The Pina Colada Song) - Rupert Holmes
1981 - Elvira - The Oak Ridge Boys
1982 - Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor
1983 - Electric Avenue - Eddy Grant
1984 - Eyes Without A Face - Billy Idol
1985 - Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears
1986 - Election Day - Arcadia
1987 - Everybody Have Fun Tonight - Wang Chung
1988 - Electric Blue - Icehouse
1989 - Eternal Flame - The Bangles
Come back tomorrow to see what ‘F’ songs are reppin’ the 80s!
Mary,
ReplyDeleteThanks for providing another wonderful playlist for me to listen to while I do various things in Blogosphere and around the house. It's a joy to have nice music playing in the background. Your theme hits the spot with me!
Join me on Curious as a Cathy for today's Looney Tunes Art Sketch of Elmer Fudd! Happy A2Zing, my friends!
Thanks for the music, I didn't know The Pina Colada Song, fun name too ;)

I love the playlist but I am surprised that I don't know the last song or Election Day. How I danced to Wang Chun. In 1983/84, I went to Brock University and I saw Billy Idol in concert there. Because it was party week, I think tickets cost something like $20 or maybe even $10. My friends and I were shocked that Billy Idol was here.
ReplyDeleteTears for Fears were one of my favourites through the 80s! Great tune!

Elvira. I'm going to have that stuck in my head all day now...
ReplyDeleteGreat list!

Oh how I loved Wang Chung--for a short while. They were like a flash in the pan. But I still enjoy hearing their music.
