Totally Awesome 80's - A #AtoZChallenge
Welcome back to the Totally Awesome 80’s! A time when we used a full can of Aqua Net (but smart enough to not use Gorilla Glue) in our hair, A time when our clothes were bright and vivid, and some of us even started wearing underwear as outerwear (*gasp!*) But don’t worry, we’re not going to focus on our fashion choices for that unforgettable decade. Instead, we’re going to focus on the music!
So, grab your walkman, put on your High Tops, and let’s dance!
Today’s Playlist
1980 - All Out Of Love - Air Supply
1981 - Another One Bites The Dust - Queen
1982 - Abracadabra - Steve Miller Band
1983 - Always Something There To Remind Me - Naked Eyes
1984 - Almost Paradise - Reno and Ann Wilson
1985 - All She Wants To Do Is Dance - Don Henley
1986 - Amanda - Boston
1987 - Alone - Heart
1988 - Angel - Aerosmith
1989 - Armageddon It - Def Leppard
Now that was fun! Don’t worry, I won’t always have 10 songs each day, I just wanted to make sure this year’s challenge got off to a good start.
Come back tomorrow to see what ‘B’ songs are reppin’ the 80s!
ps.. I would typically do a 'Throwback Thursday' post today, but as the entire month will be a throwback, I've decided to skip today's normal post. I do hope that you will join me on Thursdays for a Throwback Thursday bloghop. The only rules for the blog hop is that your featured music be at least 10 years old.
"Amanda" is one of my favorite all time songs (does it hurt that I have a cousin named Amanda?) That album was the last album I bought (as a new LP)and has that special memory associated with it, also. I am so going to enjoy this playlist a little later when I can sit down with it, because I'm also an 80's music gal.
ReplyDeleteGreat list. I've just finished making a series that is a look back at the 80s for TV, with music from the decade - and not one of them made it into the shows. Plenty of good tracks to choose from though, look forward to seeing what other ones you choose :-)

Mary,
ReplyDeleteI got too busy to get my normal posting for today done. I fear I might be in that pattern all month, but we'll see. Now, I'm going to enjoy your wonderful playlist while I do other things. I'm going to enjoy visiting you every day with 80s music to play in the background. Happy A2Zing!
Come be apart of things at Curious as a Cathy when you can, my friend.

Great list! We named our eldest daughter Amanda and I use this song as my ringtone for her on my phone. I'll listen to these as I scout through the other A to Z-ers!

I had a fun time listening to all of these because they bring back good memories. I love Heart and their 80s hair
ReplyDeleteAh 80's! I love your #2 and #9 ;)

Although the seventies have the most music that I like, I bought more music in the eighties. Loved that eighties music. You've got some good picks in this first round. I still remember the first time I heard "Abracadabra". I was in Canada driving at night going to Medicine Hat Alberta when the song came on the radio. There were flashes of lightening on the horizon ahead of me. Very memorable listening experience and I liked the song as well.
