#4M: Oh, Brother! Part 3

It’s a new month, and we have a new musical conductor. Cathy from Curious As A Cathy gets to choose our themes this month. Today’s theme is Free Choice.

In the past, we talked about bands composed of siblings, or siblings with friends. This is a continuation of that post.

Please enjoy this week’s playlist:

  1. Cage The Elephant, an American rock band, Matt and Brad Shultz. Today’s Song: Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked
  2. The Carpenters, American melodic pop duo, Karen and Richard Carpenter Today’s Song: Close To You
  3. Collective Soul, an American post-grunge band, Ed Roland and Dean Roland Today’s Song: Shine
  4. The Corrs, a Celtic folk rock band, Andrea, Sharon, Caroline, and Jim Corr. Today’s Song: Breathless
  5. Cowboy Junkies, an alternative country and folk rock band, featuring siblings Michael Timmins (guitar), Peter Timmins (drums), and Margo Timmins (vocals) Today’s Song: Sweet Jane
  6. The Cowsills, an American popular music family band that includes siblings Bill, Bob, Paul, Barry, John, and Susan. Today’s Song: The Rain, The Park & Other Things
  7. The Cranberries, an Irish alternative rock band formed in Limerick, Ireland in 1989. Brothers Noel Hogan (guitarist) and Mike Hogan (bassist). Today’s Song: Zombie
  8. Creedence Clearwater Revival, an American rock band, John Fogerty and Tom Fogerty. Today’s Song: Bad Moon Rising
  9. Crash Test Dummies, a pop-rock group from Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band is most identifiable through Brad Roberts (vocals, guitar) and his distinctive bass-baritone voice. The band members have fluctuated over the years, but its best known line-up consisted of Roberts, Ellen Reid (co-vocals, keyboards), Brad's brother Dan Roberts (bass guitar, backing vocals), Benjamin Darvill (harmonica, mandolin), and Mitch Dorge (drums, percussion). Today’s Song: Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
  10. Cherie and Marie Currie, American rock band, consisting of the eponymous identical twin singer/songwriters. Today’s Song: Since You’ve Been Gone

  3. Ya got some great tunes here! I thought of some others: The band Cathy featured today, Echosmith, is two brothers and a sister. The obvious one is Heart, the not-so-obvious one is Fanny (from the early '70's - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanny_(band)). And there's Bachman-Turner Overdrive... And Van Halen...

    1. Those are some good ones. I'm only in the C's with this list... it's a 9 part series, so there's a good chance at least one or two of those will make an appearance.

  5. Mary,

I enjoyed the continuation of your series. You put together a fine playlist of familiar tunes for me to get my groove going this morning. I just noticed your response to John that this is a 9-part series. WOW, I can't wait to sample your future playlists. Thanks for joining the 4M crew on the dance floor, dear. Have a boogietastic week! ;)

  6. What a combination of songs I remember, a couple I never heard, and some old favorites I haven't heard in years (Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm and Since You've been Gone). Never realized some of these groups were composed of siblings. And, as a bonus, I finally got to find out exactly what Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm is about. That song is one you either love or not.
