RocktoberMusicFest2020 Announcement

It’s that time of year again!

Time to start planning for this year’s #RocktoberMusicFest (aka #RMF)

After a successful year last year, I’ve decided to bring back this fun blog hop.

What is RocktoberMusicFest?

In short, it’s a month-long blog hop held during the month of October to celebrate Rock Music!

I’m giving you a heads up now, so you can have a few posts prepared in advance, should you choose.

And guess what  -  there is no commitment required of you.

Here’s how it will work:

Each day (yes, *EVERY* day) in the month of October, I will be making a post sharing a song that falls under the category of ‘Rock’.

If you want to join me in the fun, all you need to do is write a post with a song and video that also falls under the category of ‘Rock’. This includes any sub-genre of Rock. (Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Alternative, Punk, Acid, Classic, Rockabilly, Southern, etc)

Since I seem to be having issues with Linkytools and there are a number of you that also have issues with Linkytools, I have decided to forego that route.  Instead, you will need to post your link in the comments section of my daily post.  Please use HTML for the link, so that it will be easily clickable.

Not sure how to code your link in the comments?  Use this handy example:

My posts go live at 12am Mountain Time, so you’ll be able to post your links anytime after that.

Visit all the participants and comment on their posts.

You don’t have to participate every day - however, if you drop your link in the comments, the link must go to a current music post of yours. (I’m not mean, I just have ‘standards’)

I even made a graphic for you to use (not required, but it’s more fun, right?)  You can either grab the one up top or this smaller version:  Feel free to resize as necessary for your blog posts.

Invite your friends as the more the merrier!

Let’s have a great month of Rocktober!

So who's going to join me? Are you in?

  2. I've yet to participate in Rocktober though it does seem fun and right up my line of interest. Maybe this year if things are still kind of locked down. I'm not making any plans for this year for now.

I keep trying to get into your BOTB post but cannot. I seem to have trouble getting into your posts lately. I got into this one through the direct link on Stephen's site. Has anyone else indicated problems? I don't know if it's because of all the graphics and the layout of your page or what. I'll visit that BOTB post to vote if I can--or was the post a Good-bye to doing BOTB. Oh well, I'll see what you have to say.

  3. Sounds like fun! Although I'm foregoing blog hops in general, I'd love to add a post or two come October. Can't ever have enough rock music! 😁🤘

  5. Hey Mary! I have all of my posts cue up and ready to go for October. BTW, do you have a battle for today? Although, I do not have one going on, I wanted to cast my vote in the battles going on. I'm trying to get back into the groove of things whenever possible. Have a good weekend, my dear!

  6. I am so excited for this! And this is a good time for me to sit and get some posts started, as I am at my computer getting some other posts going, and moving my music onto an external hard drive in anticipation of my new laptop's arrival this week...

I love comments! Did you know that comments that are less than 8 words long are considered spam? So, don't hold back! Spill yer guts. Let me know you stopped by and let me know what you liked about the post, or what you didn't like. If you are a blogger, be sure to include a link to your blog, so that I can easily reciprocate.
