#4M: Flowers and Gardens
Today our musical conductor wants us to share songs about Flowers and Gardens.
The first song in the setlist is the first song that popped into my head immediately. I just ran with it from there. Sorry if it seems a bit discombobulated. That's just how my brain functions some days. Enjoy!
Here is what I came up with:
- Rose Garden - Lynn Anderson
- Iris - Goo Goo Dolls
- Supermarket Flowers - Ed Sheeran
- Kiss From A Rose - Seal
- Lilac Wine - Jeff Buckley
- Where Have All The Flowers Gone - Peter Paul and Mary
- Blue Orchid - White Stripes
- Roses are Red (My Love) - Bobby Vinton
- The Rose - Bette Midler
- Tip Toe Through The Tulips - Tiny Tim
Have a great week, and be sure to check out the new features on the blog :)
Today’s post is part of the Monday’s Music Moves Me blog hop, hosted by X-Mas Dolly, and co-hosted by Stacy Uncorked, Curious as a Cathy. , and Ramblin with AM. Great list. Bette Miller is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking I could almost do a full set of just Roses...
DeleteLove your music this this week!!!!! I semi-complied with the theme this week and still marched to my own drummer(Don't I always do!)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I always like to draw outside of the picture, and think outside of the box.
DeleteGreat old songs! I love The Goo Goo Dolls' song and Kiss From a Rose. Beautiful songs! The Tiny Tim piece cracks me up. I remember him doing this. He's so bad. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHe's so bad, he's good? I don't know that I will understand what the draw to him was. I do remember him performing on Carson and thought he was weird then too.
DeleteSuch a cool playlist. So very nice. My list is so very different. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patrick! Different is good! LOL
DeleteI beg your pardon, Mary, but I never promised you a rose garden. I did say I would check out your blog though, and this one is great! I remember listening to Lynn Anderson's "Rose Garden" when I was a kid, and loving it. I still love it!
ReplyDeleteRose Garden was the first song that popped into my head when I read what the theme was. I thought - Rose = Flowers - Check, Garden - Check, Flowers and Gardens - Check, Check! It's definitely a two-fer and a blast from the past.
DeleteThanks for dropping by!
~Mary
Great tunes here brought together my friend. Goo Dolls I recognized that one. The Rose by Seal is a very favorite song of mine. Ahhhh and Peter, Paul & Mary those were the good ol' days... Bobby Vinton's tune was the first song I ever danced with a boy at my very first boy & girl party. hahaha~ Dang, I'm gettin' old! LOL You really put a great list together here girlfirend. Great Job! Happy Memorial Day! Be safe, be happy and stay healthy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marie!
DeleteAnd... you're not that old. Because if you're that old, that means I'm getting old. And we can't have that.
You're the first person I've run across who used Tiny Tim's "Tiptoe Thru The Tulips." That'll keep Stephen happy. Good set!
ReplyDeleteHaha! The sad thing is he most likely won't even see it.
DeleteGood selections: I used Blue Orchid as one of mine :) I didn't even think about The Rose or Iris. And I should have. I've got to start giving myself more time to prepare these posts. I liked my selections, though.
ReplyDeleteSome of these are totally new to me!

Mary,
ReplyDeleteLynn Anderson's 'Rose Garden' is an oldie which I remember quite well. There have been many songs to cross paths among the 4Mers this week, more so than usual, but that's okay. It's always so much fun to see what others are spinning on the ole virtual turntable each week. Have a boogietastic week, my dear. Take care and be well!
We just loved this, Mary. Rose Garden is such a beautiful song and Ed Sheeran's Supermarket flowers teared us up😸Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteTip Toe through the Tulips - would you believe I owned a 45 of the Tiny Tim cover of this song. Yes, so bad it was good. The Rose is a favorite of mine, as is (why didn't I put it on my blog?) Where Have All the Flowers Gone. Ed Sheeran's Supermarket Flowers is so sad (for me) that I couldn't even finish it - what a wonderful tribute to his Mom that was. Very, very nice set indeed.
