#BOTB Results: Ave Maria
Round Two of December Battle of the Bands has now completed.
The chosen song for this battle was Schubert’s Ave Maria. Although the number of votes were low, it was a very tight battle. So tight, I had to have The Cute One cast a tie-breaking vote. He didn’t mind, it’s his favorite Christmas tune of all time.
Several of you mentioned that you were not familiar with the female contender. Some research online tells me that she is a well-known soprano opera singer known for her roles in Mozart’s operas such as Figaro.
Here’s a breakdown of the votes:
Voting for Barbara Bonney:
John, Arlee, Birgit, The Cute One
For a total of 4 votes
Voting for Andrea Bocelli:
Mike, Cathy, Stephen
For a total of 3 votes
A huge thank you to those of you who took the time to listen and cast your votes. I’m still deciding on which song to battle on Jan 1, but I hope that you all will take the time to stop by and vote again.
Here’s a special tune to keep you in the Christmas spirit
See you all again on the 1st! In the meantime, check out my ‘Jingle All The Way’ series… Doing my damndest to stay in the holiday spirit.
I really thought Bocelli's bigger version would win this--and it was close--but I was glad to see I was on the winning side. This was a wonderful Battle.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!

Mary,
ReplyDeleteWell...I'm surprised that Bocelli didn't win. I absolutely love his vocals and I still feel he's the better artist in this round but the majority spoke. Thanks for reporting the results.

ReplyDeleteAs the others before me also said, I really thought Andrea Bocelli would win this contest. But that shows to go ya that we really don't know nuttin' when it comes to BOTB.
My friend, I hope you have a joyful Christmas and a stellar New Year, and I look forward to seeing what Battles you put together going . . . uh . . . forward.
