Announcing! #RocktoberMusicFest 2019
It’s that time of year again!
Time to start planning for this year’s #RocktoberMusicFest (aka #RMF)
After a successful inaugural year last year, I’ve decided to bring back this fun blog hop.
What is RocktoberMusicFest?
In short, it’s a month-long blog hop held during the month of October to celebrate Rock Music!
I’m giving you a heads up now, so you can have a few posts prepared in advance, should you choose.
And guess what - there is no commitment required of you.
Here’s how it will work:
Each day (yes, *EVERY* day) in the month of October, I will be making a post sharing a song that falls under the category of ‘Rock’.
If you want to join me in the fun, all you need to do is write a post with a song and video that also falls under the category of ‘Rock’. This includes any sub-genre of Rock. (Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Alternative, Punk, Acid, Classic, Rockabilly, Southern, etc)
Since I seem to be having issues with Linky tools and there are a number of you that also have issues with Linky tools, I have decided to forego that route. Instead, you will need to post your link in the comments section of my daily post. Please use HTML for the link, so that it will be easily clickable.
Not sure how to code your link? Use this handy tip:
My posts go live at 12am Eastern, so you’ll be able to post your links anytime after that.
Visit all the participants and comment on their posts.
You don’t have to participate every day - however, if you drop your link in the comments, the link must go to a current music post of yours. (I’m not mean, I just have ‘standards’)
I even made a graphic for you to use (not required, but it’s more fun, right?) You can either grab the one up top or this smaller version: Feel free to resize as necessary for your blog posts.
Invite your friends as the more the merrier!
Let’s have a great month of Rocktober!
So who's going to join me? Are you in?
Sounds like fun to me. I'll mark my calendar and start prepping. Thanks!

Sounds great, Janet! Looking forward to your posts :)
DeleteWhat can I say...I'm in. There aren't daily themes or anything, are there? I only ask because I want to get started...
ReplyDeleteNo Daily Themes. I wanted this to be simple and easy for everyone. The only requirement is the post needs to have music that falls somewhere in the Rock genre or sub-genres.
DeleteLooking forward to your posts, John!
I don't want to commit, but it does sound like fun. A request? I ask that you post the instructions, at least in your first couple of October posts, for those of us who don't know HTML, until we learn how to make our post names clickable? Hey, I can enjoy music and learn HTML, all at the same time. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteNo commitment necessary, Alana :)
DeleteJust join in when you can. And yes, I will either include the instructions or a link to the instructions in the first few posts. I know I always have to refer back to it from time to time as well.
Mary,
ReplyDeleteI've nearly got all of my Rocktober Music Fest posts done. :) Looking forward to the fun, my friend!
Cathy,
DeleteYou are further along in the process than I am. I've got the posts all plotted out, but still need to get them written and scheduled. This past week really put me off schedule. Looking forward as well, my friend!
I'm thinking if I participate it would be on FB since I have a cat blog with music not a music blog. Perhaps I can include it at the end of my posts. Have to figure it out.
ReplyDeleteSure, you can add it to the end of your posts. I think Cathy K did that last year.
DeleteI enjoyed your posts last year, Mary, and might join in here and there.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbie!
DeleteWould love to have you join in the fun. There's no commitment, so there's no real pressure to post every day (unless you're the host - aka me.... but I think I have that under control now)
Awesome; I think I might try this next month. I probably shouldn't commit to every day, but that is my goal. Seems like a good way to meet more music bloggers!

I guess I am in!
