"The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em)" is a song written by Greg Kihn and Steve Wright and recorded by American rock band The Greg Kihn Band. Released in 1981, the song celebrates the quality of break-up songs in rock's earlier times, as the narrator laments both his recent breakup and the fact that they don't write good breakup songs anymore.
I dare you not to sing along with this one…

Mary,
ReplyDeleteI'm rockin' with you again today. I do remember this song but one I forgot about until hearing it here this morning. Thanks for hosting such a cool party all month long! :)
Hiya Cathy!
DeleteI always have one of those "oh! This song.." moments with this one. I know I've heard the song plenty of times before but for some reason I can't connect the dots with the name and title. With so many songs out there, it's easy to do.
Thanks for joining me in my little party today!

ReplyDeleteSecond - I really thought this was going to be another new song for me, but as soon as I hit play I recognized it. I guess I just never knew the name or band before today. :)
No worries!

No worries, Michele!
DeleteI'm just happy as a pig in mud that you stopped by! I'm a bit behind in just about everything right now. Including my offline life. I need a full week just to myself to get everything caught up and back on schedule. Either that, or I should just forego sleep altogether. Caffeine IV for one, please!
