Remembering Alan Thicke
Alan Thicke was most known as a sitcom dad, who was a work from home psychiatrist in the television series ‘Growing Pains’. He was also known for writing several theme songs for other sitcoms and game shows. Unfortunately, Alan Thicke died unexpectedly on Dec 13 from a heart attack after playing hockey with his son, Carter. Alan has two other sons, Brennan and Robin (best known for the song‘ Blurred Lines’)
Today, I’m going to share with you 5 of the theme songs that he wrote, or co-wrote.
Diff'rent Strokes
The Facts of Life
NBC's 'The Wizard Of Odds' with Alex Trebek
(You hear Alan Thicke’s vocals on this as well)
The Joker's Wild (1978-1986)
Wheel of Fortune - 1975
Wheel of Fortune went through several different themes, but this was the very first one.
Added bonus:
Alan Thicke also co-wrote this song, which was a solo hit for Bill Champlin:
Rest In Peace, Alan Thicke. You may have left this world, but your legacy remains.
I’ve created a playlist on YouTube and included 5 more theme songs. I would love it if you gave them a listen, and even subscribed to my channel.
