A Tribute to No Shave November
Happy Turkey Day!
This is our tribute to the phenomenon known as “No Shave November.” The idea is to showcase those who generally don’t shave (or are known for not shaving.)
We will start with someone who was a member of the Wrecking Crew (a group of well-known session musicians), and was just one of two musicians from that group to find success outside of that group. His name was Leon Russell. (Glen Campbell was the other.)
Sadly, Leon Russell recently passed, on the 13th of this month. One of the songs he was known for, was “A Song For You:”
Up next, we have the Grateful Dead, a band that spanned at least 30 years and has been said to have played in front of more people than anyone else. Jerry Garcia is the bearded one singing lead on “Touch Of Grey,” written after Garcia recovered from a coma.
And last, but certainly not least, we have the penultimate bearded ones, known as ZZ Top.
The guy without the beard - his name is Beard. These guys have been around since the very early 70s. And here’s a song from those earlier years, called “Just Got Paid.”
And being this is the season of giving thanks: We give thanks for those musicians who’ve left their mark in the world of music, however great or small.
Have a great Turkey Day, Everyone!
